Outlook-Express Probleme/Einstellungen?

Hello, i will ask my engineer what the problem is, i know that empty news groups are not listed by us, but i never believe that are 70 K groups :(

Thank you bullcat. And please dont forget to ask why Outlook-Express doesnt work at all, as a newsreader. Not even a single newsgroup is loaded and it only comes an error message "unknown error", without any further information.

Hello, answer from the engineer.

Only the news groups with active postings in it, other news groups with no postings are not listed, that is all. If you want a special newsgroup you can ask it, send us a email and we will upgrade that news group.

well this is not quite what I wanted to hear

I use outlook express the last 10 years as e-mail client and also newsgroup reader just for diskussions with other newsgroup users (just plein text).
I dont know another newsreader whitch is as easy to use for that purpose.

So what could be the cause that I cant download the newsgroups-list with outlook express?
Is there maybe sth like a reverse lookup or Port icon

problem?
Maybe you could ask your technicians (engineers) again?
